A compact vacuum tank is a valuable complement to any pumper’s fleet thanks to its versatility, footprint, and not needing a tanker endorsement to drive.

Vacuum Tank Sales’ 999-Gallon Vacuum Tank, built out by Muskogee Metal Fabricators, is a quality and highly customizable option, offering a multitude of build options and add-ons to suit a range of applications.

“The beauty of this size is that it’s versatile. It all depends on how you want to work,” says Kurt Mannel, president and co-owner of Muskogee Metal Fabricators. “The size of the 999-Gallon Vacuum Tank is optimal for using a smaller, less expensive vehicle or trailer for transport.”

The lean and mean tank can be equipped with a single or split compartment, such for portable restroom service holding 699 gallons of waste and 300 gallons of water. It can also be used to clean out grease traps. It excels at hauling 999 gallons of waste to get the highest-capacity transportation possible without requiring a U.S. Department of Transportation tanker endorsement.

“With the demand for CDL drivers on the rise, our goal is to make it easier for waste haulers to complete their jobs efficiently,” Mannel says. “Keeping the tank under 1,000 gallons allows septic companies to have more options for drivers, as it eliminates the need for a tanker endorsement.”

Mountable to a driver’s new or existing flatbed or trailer, the 999-gallon unit has a number of add-ons for a personalized rig, from hoses, hose hooks, wand holders, bottle holders, toolboxes, pumps, and portable restroom racks. Vacuum Truck Sales offers several barrel configurations compatible with a variety of pumps, which can be side-mounted or placed in the rear.

“We can even adjust the diameter and play with the overall length if space is a concern,” Mannel says.

The waste compartment is accessible via manway at the top for simple cleaning and maintenance, and all components are welded using a MIG or TIG process. Mounting and assembly services are available in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Vacuum Tank Sales, established in 2023, is the marketing division of Muskogee Metal Fabricators, which has served the Oklahoma region and beyond, fabricating vacuum tanks and other metal products since 1926.

“With a combined 80 years in the industry, our team has developed innovative waste-hauling solutions that we felt were important to bring to market ourselves,” Mannel says. “Our goal has always been to explore how we can build something better – whether it’s lighter, faster or cleaner.”
