Advanced Treatment Units
Anua PuraSys SBR
The Anua PuraSys SBR is an effective solution for repairing failed systems and rejuvenating tired drainfields. It ships as a complete boxed kit that installs in hours inside any standard septic tank with no extra space needed. Each kit includes a control panel, floats, siphon/sludge pump, aerator and drainfield pump, making it ideal for new construction or easy retrofits. It can help bring overloaded or clogged systems back to life by delivering highly treated, oxygen-rich wastewater that restores healthy soil conditions. Moderate daily dosing keeps the drainfield working like new with a natural wetting and drying cycle that helps it “breathe” and stay aerobic. The process is low maintenance and energy efficient, giving homeowners a reliable, long-lasting fix without costly replacements. Certified to NSF/ANSI 40 Class I and 245 for nitrogen reduction, and approved in many states, PuraSys SBR offers flexible residential and commercial options. 336-547-9338; www.anua-us.com
BioMicrobics RetroFAST
When a homeowner is building a new house or has an underperforming septic system, they typically are looking for something simple and cost-effective without the need for heavy machinery for installation. The BioMicrobics RetroFAST septic system is small enough to be inserted directly into a new or existing septic tank through a minimum 18-inch manhole. It is made up of a white liner, several blue media blocks, an airlift device and a remote blower. The oxygenated water supports the growth of useful microorganisms on the surface of the media. These attached-growth microorganisms break down the organic material in the wastewater. The microbial growth on the media surface is sloughed off by aeration. Oxygenated water with low organic content will be delivered to a drainfield, promoting a breakdown of the existing biomat layer, thereby improving soil and drainage. 800-753-3278; www.biomicrobics.com
Eljen B43 GSF
The B43 GSF (Geotextile Sand Filter) unit from Eljen, named from its modular dimensions of 4 feet by 3 feet by 7 inches, is an alternative onsite septic leachfield system. It uses a two-stage treatment process to improve effluent quality before dispersal. The primary treatment is where the open-air channels within the module support aerobic bacterial growth on the geotextile fabric interface and promote oxygen in the system. The secondary treatment zone is where effluent drips into the specified sand layer and supports unsaturated flow into the native soil. The specified sand layer protects the soil from compaction, which helps maintain cracks and crevices in the soil. It has the versatility of being used in trenches, beds or mounds with an enhanced nitrogen reduction. Biomat management is provided, which takes the burden of treatment and biomat development off the native soil. 800-444-1359; www.eljen.com
Aeration System
Norweco Model 225L
Norweco’s Singulair Green HDPE and Singulair concrete advanced treatment units are available with the Model 225L low profile aerator. Based on the 206C aerator, the Model 225L low profile aerator features a modified bracket design, lifting handle and aspirator shaft, allowing for a 6-inch reduction of the height of the risers over the Singulair systems. This makes it a suitable option for projects in areas with high water tables or similar challenges that necessitate a shallow burial depth. The aerator is engineered to be dependable and energy efficient. And because ANSI/NSF certifications require it to be in operation only half the time, it has a much longer operational life than competitive air delivery systems. 419-668-4471; www.norweco.com
Nitrogen Reduction System
Infiltrator Water Technologies ECOPOD-N
The ECOPOD-N for advanced wastewater treatment from Infiltrator Water Technologies is designed to meet the growing demand for total nitrogen reduction in wastewater. It offers a stable and reliable, fixed-film process that provides a robust solution suitable for continuous or intermittent use. Units significantly reduce BOD, TSS, fecal coliforms and nutrients in wastewater and minimize sludge production for reduced long-term maintenance and low life cycle cost. Easy to install and maintain in Infiltrator tanks or concrete tanks, it has no mechanical parts internal to the unit and features a patented nonclogging air delivery system. Five models are available to accommodate daily flows ranging from 500 to 1,500 gpd. The technology has been tested under NSF/ANSI 40 and 245 with an average nitrogen reduction of greater than 50% and exceeds Class 1 requirements with an average effluent quality of 9 mg/L BOD5 and 8 mg/L TSS. 800-221-4436; www.infiltratorwater.com
Pump Control Panels
SJE Rhombus IFS Single Phase Simplex
The IFS Single Phase Simplex control panel from SJE Rhombus is built around an innovative circuit board and protected by a touch‑safe housing, operating a single 120/208/240V single‑phase pump while streamlining setup, operation and maintenance. A redesigned, easy‑to‑use color LCD mounted on the inner door provides intuitive programming and system monitoring, putting critical information and adjustments at your fingertips. The panel’s configuration can be converted in the field between demand dose and timed dose directly through the LCD interface, eliminating the need for separate models or complex rewiring. Available with the EZconnex float system, it simplifies installation and improves reliability in challenging environments. Whether you’re upgrading legacy controls or standardizing across new installations, this simplex panel delivers safety, usability and adaptability in a compact package. 888-342-5753; www.sjerhombus.com
UV Disinfection Equipment
Jet Inc. Illumi-Jet 952 UV Disinfection Unit
The Illumi-Jet 952 UV Disinfection Unit from Jet Inc. is designed to effectively disinfect treated effluent from advanced onsite sewage treatment systems. It can reduce fecal coliform and E. coli bacteria levels to well below the most stringent U.S. treatment standards. Under standard operating conditions, bacteriological reduction exceeds 99.9%. It utilizes a germicidal lamp which emits 95% of the ultraviolet energy at a wavelength of maximum germicidal effectiveness and is highly lethal to viruses, bacteria, protozoa and mold. The disinfection chamber couples directly to any system’s 4-inch discharge pipe. The unit can be permanently installed below grade or attached to the inlet and housed in a pump tank in a treatment train series. When fully inserted, the lamp housing is positioned by an integrated keyway near the top of the disinfection chamber and creates a defined flow path, ensuring system effluent has the proper ultraviolet exposure time. 800-321-6960; www.jetincorp.com
