Positive displacement blowers are the tool of choice for pumpers who value near-instant vacuum, continuous and ease of maintenance. National Vacuum Equipment’s lineup of tri-lobe blowers is no exception, and in October, the company released an upgrade, the 4310 PRO, which further refines what blowers do best.

“We listened closely to what your customers needed in the field,” says NVE National Sales Manager Jason Reading. “The 4310 PRO is the result of that collaboration – smarter, quieter and built for the toughest jobs.”

The PRO model delivers 940 cfm, 15 psi and 4,500 rpm at maximum vacuum, while including a plethora of pumper-friendly modifications. The new-and-improved helical tri-lobe rotor unlocks a quieter noise profile and improved airflow, ideal on challenging job sites where lower volumes are preferred, but without compromising on reliability and performance for longer runtimes.

Airflow is further optimized via the blower’s onboard ballast port manifold, which is reversible to provide air injection to the drive and nondrive end for better cooling. Greased Zerk fittings provide lubrication to the four-way valve, which facilitates changes from vacuum to pressure mode.

Compared to the original blower, maintenance is simpler with the PRO. New securing filter cover eyebolts make it easier to get to the stainless steel filter, which also features an improved design, for access cleaning. Improved blower service ports ease inspection, maintenance and flushing, while end plate design makes it easier to open the unit up for internal maintenance and repairs.

Two components were moved for better accessibility, the drain plugs and oil level sight eye, respectively, for improved draining and for the pumper to more easily identify when it’s time for an oil change.

While pumpers can continue to get full product support, NVE began a gradual phaseout of the legacy 4310 blower in October. The PRO, however, retains compatibility with all its predecessor’s package options and accessories, allowing greater flexibility for both new PRO users and existing legacy users.

According to Reading, the 4310 won’t be the last product that NVE gives the PRO treatment; on the horizon, the company plans to expand the PRO Series to additional blower units.

Like the original 4310, the PRO has a 4-inch porting size with a 1.5-inch shaft size. It is engineered, fabricated and manufactured in the U.S. at the company’s Traverse City, Michigan headquarters.
