Centrifugal pumps solve issues for vacuum truck manufacturer

Problem: A vacuum truck manufacturer was experiencing constant overheating and failure of washdown pumps. Cycling was causing these failures. The manufacturer had been using a pressure switch, which was required because the pump he was using would fail if it was left on. Leaks in the lines and valves constantly turned the pump on and off. Cycling was also causing the pressure switch to fail as well.

Solution: DC10 centrifugal pumps (with the use of a simple bypass line) from MTH Pumps are designed to run for up to two hours at shutoff without any heat or mechanical seal problems. This eliminates the need for valves and pressure switches, as well as the number of things that can (and will) go wrong in the field, reducing costs. They are manufactured with all cast stainless steel wetted parts and add the use of a standard dry run seal for reliability.

Result: After more than five years of service, the customer has had an almost flawless record of no failures with the pumps. 630-552-4115; www.mthpumps.com.
