Snowbridge Inc. started out in 1976 as a small septic tank pumping company. Today, its diverse services also include septic system repair and replacement, a wide array of municipal pipe services, and residential and commercial drain and sewer lateral cleaning and repair.

The company offers its pipeline services through two Roto-Rooter franchises serving five counties around Breckenridge in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. An integral part of the service package is sewer lateral inspection using push cameras.

Each of the company’s service vans is equipped with a SeeSnake camera by RIDGID. “We own seven SeeSnake cameras in various sizes,” says Bill Tatro, who owns the business with his younger brother, Chris Tatro. The cameras enable service technicians to check the condition of customers’ laterals and diagnose problems so the cost-effective and complete repairs can be made.

SeeSnake video inspection systems deliver high-quality images. Models include standard cameras or self-leveling cameras that always present upright images. The units come with high-intensity lights and hardened stainless steel camera head spring assemblies. Models are available with different cable stiffness and spring flexibility to work around pipe bends. Flexible transmitters simplify locating.

For locating on pipe service jobs, Snowbridge crews can deploy NaviTrack locators, also by RIDGID. The units can locate SeeSnake in-line transmitters, remote transmitters (sondes) and energized metallic lines. Transmitters can be approached from any direction for fast and accurate locates. A large mapping display verifies locates.

Diversification has been important for Snowbridge in that its population of septic systems is declining as the local sanitation district extends sewers out into more rural areas. “There aren’t many new septic systems being installed in our area,” Bill Tatro says. “The municipalities have money to invest in sewer systems, and many of them have done so. While there are still a lot of septic systems here, that’s not going to be a growth area for us.”

The Roto-Rooter franchises and a growing presence in the municipal and commercial markets are keeping Snowbridge busy and growing.
