Replacing hose collars in the field isn’t the easiest one-person task when limited to nothing but a big hammer. WtW Tools designed the Hose Tool to replace sledgehammers and brute force.

The Hose Tool makes it easy for a single worker to replace fittings no matter where and when it’s needed and according to the company, no lubricants, torches or other tools are needed.

“The Hose Tool was designed to give the operator the option to repair 3- to 4-inch hose on location without assistance because the repeated replacement of damaged collars had become cost-prohibitive,” says Darrell Noblitt, owner of WtW Tools. “The time and expense savings over ordering custom hoses was the trigger, but the safety gained is now the driving force for taking it to a wider market.”

The Hose Tool uses levers to pull the hose over the connector instead of using force to beat the connector into the hose, reducing the risk of damage to the connector and the hose while eliminating the risk of injury to the operator.

To operate, users slide the collar and clean-dry hose onto the Hose Tool. Next, compress the handles to draw the hose onto the collar. Open and close the handles repeatedly until the collar is completely seated. The Hose Tool is compatible with most standard industrial hoses.

They are offered in a 300 or 400 model for various pipe diameters. The 300 handles 3-inch inside diameter and the 400 model is designed for 4-inch inside diameter. More sizes are currently in development and customers can contact WtW for specific needs or custom sizes.

The Hose Tool was brought to market after extensive research and trials, Noblitt says. “Several design elements were adjusted in the field testing,” he explains. “We continue to listen to our customers and look for improvements. In fact, we have recently improved the collapsible handle for better performance in dirty environments.”

Hose Tools are made from a variety of cast, machined, milled, steel, aluminum and even sintered metals. They are made in the USA, including all components and assembly.

Noblitt says customers comment frequently on how the Hose Tool has taken previous safety concerns out of the picture. “The Hose Tool was designed to save time and money,” he says. “The unintended result is a much safer process for replacing collars and connectors on hoses.” 833-989-8665; www.hosetoolusa.com
