Service truck keeps drivers under endorsement limit

Laws and restrictions often play a factor in choosing the best equipment for your business, like the tanker endorsement required by the U.S. Department of Transportation for any truck with total combined volume exceeding 1,000 gallons. KeeVac Industries built the KV999 portable restroom vacuum tank for pumpers looking to stay under the tanker endorsement requirement.

“We spent the early years talking to customers about needing a CDL license to operate the larger trucks,” says Jessica Smith, marketing director for KeeVac Industries. “After researching state laws and regulations, we worked with our engineering and development team to find a solution that would work for them.”

The KV999 portable restroom tank was designed to offer capacity, but maintain a small and maneuverable footprint, all in a product that doesn’t require the endorsement. “Drivers and operators do not always have a CDL license, thus rendering many trucks unusable,” Smith says. “This tank allows drivers to stay under the requirement for most states so they don’t need a CDL.”

The tank is available in steel, stainless steel and aluminum, with single- or dual-side service. The unit is designed to hold 699 gallons of waste and 300 gallons of freshwater, and includes a two-unit, fold-down restroom carrier with a trailer hitch. Available with single or dual compartments, the KV999 was made to be versatile and can be used for septic and grease or portable restrooms.

“Customers call us looking for solutions that might work for them. Many are unaware that this option is available and will work for their business,” Smith says.

Simth explains that KeeVac tanks can be highly customized for a vast range of applications. They can be mounted on a variety of chassis including Ford, Chevrolet, Isuzu, Peterbilt, Freightliner, International, Kenworth and RAM. Each unit comes with an upgraded DC-10 washdown pump and hose reel from Hannay Reels, but customers may also choose the pump that best fits their needs. Exterior controls and dual cabinets are designed for operator safety and convenience. An arctic package and safety lighting are also available. 866-789-9440; www.keevac.com.
