Standard restroom units are a critical part of your rental inventory. However, sometimes a client is in need of a little extra room in the restrooms you provide. For customers looking for a little more space, yet don’t want to jump up to a restroom trailer, the Atlas from PolyPortables offers an answer.

The Atlas provides convenient access for persons who prefer a larger portable restroom. While it is designed for use by patrons in wheelchairs or with physical disabilities, it is not ADA-compliant. It is, however, perfect for families or anyone looking for a large, comfortable portable restroom, according to Joseph Hummel, marketing manager for PolyPortables.

“The Atlas is a completely upgraded version of our Enhanced Access Unit,” he says. “We were able to take many of the features our customers really like about our other newer units and incorporate them into the Atlas.”

The unit’s door includes the same durable, spring-loaded truClose hinges from D&D Technologies that have already been incorporated on the company’s popular Axxis standard restroom, along with a similar twin-molded, two-piece, sonically welded doorjamb.

“In our market research, we found that people really liked the design of the front door on the Axxis, so we recreated it in a larger size for the Atlas,” Hummel says. “Once we had an upgraded front door and the new hinges, we jumped in and made the whole unit better.”

The unit includes many modular components, with replaceable common sides and molded-in vent screens. Heavy-duty side handles make the unit easy to maneuver, and steel-reinforced tie-downs ensure safe transport. Its 1/2-inch thick polyethylene extrusion floor provides rigidity and near ground-level access. Its 40-gallon waste tank was also angled to provide deep sump access for easier and more thorough cleaning.

Standard features include a toilet seat and cover, dual-roll toilet paper holder with included rod and padlock, and heavy-duty aluminum handrails similar to those found in many plumbed restrooms. It is constructed from a high molecular-weight material with extra UV protection to ensure that it remains durable and aesthetically pleasing through years of work.

“We felt it was important to provide an oversized unit that offers all the new features of our standard units,” Hummel says. “So far customers have been pleased that we went that route with the Atlas.”
