Hey Western U.S. pumpers (or anyone interested in continuing education and treatment technologies): Will I see you Oct. 6-7 at the joint California Onsite Wastewater Association/National Association of Wastewater Transporters workshop and exhibit in beautiful Jackson (and Sutter Creek), Calif.?
The state and national associations are putting together a valuable Septage/Grease Waste Treatment Workshop, Vacuum Truck Operation Training and a Wastewater Treatment Technology Exhibition, all over two days. The training and exhibition of onsite system technologies will be held at the host Jackson Rancheria Casino & Resort. On day two, Oct. 7, the group will head to a state-of-the-art septage treatment facility in nearby Sutter Creek to see demonstrations of various waste treatment systems in action.
You’ll get a lot out of this event if you need to update training for your crews or if you’ve considered treating the waste you collect on your pumping routes. I have attended or reported on several of the NAWT Waste Treatment Symposiums over the years. While this won’t be the same exact format as the past symposiums, I think pumpers will take away a lot of information to help them decide if treatment is a good option for their own operations.
