Pay Attention to Septic Tank Levels

Look for Dawn Long's newsletter and her Pumper Interview story

In the May edition of her septic service newsletter, Arizona pumper Dawn Long writes a detailed article about the importance of careful inspection of septage levels when opening the lid of a tank. In the newsletter, she writes about the conditions she’s found among the tanks she’s photographed over the years, paying close attention to factors that could indicate tank damage or infiltration from tree roots. She tells what to look for to determine fluctuating levels that may cause pumpers to investigate for potential problems. Long’s detailed photos would interest any pumper.

Long owns American Septic Service in Sierra Vista, Ariz., with her husband, Don. She is active in National Association of Wastewater Transporters programs. She was interviewed for this month’s Pumper Interview story entitled “Upon Further Review.’’ To subscribe to Long’s email newsletter, go to her company website, www.americansepticservice.com.
