Five Reasons to Get in a Car or Airplane and Head for Louisville Next Week

Look over my quick list and gear up for the Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo (Feb. 24-27).

1. New products = new ideas.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the story … “When I was at the Expo, I saw a tool that I’d never seen before. I got to thinking about how I could use the device to make a few dollars. All of the sudden, this one product has helped me build a new division for my company. I’ve hired two extra workers and I could use another good employee to build this part of the business.’’ Check out the latest technologies to grow your business.

2. Network like crazy.

You’re from Iowa or Florida or Massachusetts. You often have questions about working more efficiently, marketing, whatever small business issue it might be. But none of your competitors are talking to you. You wish there was someone to bounce ideas off of, but it’s not going to happen, at least not with the other contractors in your hometown. Come to the Expo, sit down for a sandwich at lunch and start talking to others at your table. You won’t believe the valuable give-and-take, the priceless words of advice you receive at the Expo. This is what you’ve been waiting for: New friends in the industry.

3. Tap industry expertise.

You need a new vacuum pump for your truck. Or maybe you want to look into dewatering septage. Or perhaps you want to secure a loan for a new truck. No matter the issue affecting your business, just about anyone who can help you solve a pumping challenge is going to be located in one big room and waiting to help you. For three whole days! How could you be this lucky? Expo regulars tell me they love the show because they can see and touch every piece of equipment they’re considering before making a buying decision. And with the top manufacturers on hand to share advice, they more quickly find the best solution for their needs.

4. Get continuing education credits.

If you’ve been to the Expo in recent years, you know that the Education Day seminar offerings have become a huge drawing card for attendees. You can see some of the leading lights of several wastewater industries share knowledge that can help your business thrive. At the same time, you can use this opportunity to collect some needed CEU credits without taking valuable time away from your company during the busy season. Education Day offers great convenience for you and any employees you bring along to the Expo. Load up on the learning!

5. Have fun!

A party atmosphere takes hold at the COLE Pub after attendees spend the day walking the show floor. The industry appreciation party Thursday evening is a great place to kick back with your friends in the pumping business. And the price is right: 25 cents for a beer. And speaking of value, how about the Saturday Evening Jam Revisited? This year you can see Phil Vassar and Sawyer Brown, and admission is included as part of your full Expo registration.

It’s not too late to make your Expo plans. Head to www.pumpershow.com to learn more.
