Problem: A major Midwestern construction company made a corporate level decision to transition to climate-controlled flushing toilet facilities at large work sites for their construction employees and not use traditional job site plastic portable restroom units after a collaborative study on the effects of temperature and other environmental factors on worker safety and well-being. Locations were often remote, austere and required facilities with extreme durability features to address the challenging operating conditions along with sites having a higher male ratio of workers than other environments.

Solution: JAG Mobile Solutions, through its JAGPRO network, provided self-contained hard-sided climate-controlled restrooms in the form of Porta Lisa Plus four-station, Smart Maxx eight-eight station, Smart Maxx 10-station restroom trailers as well as eight-station upfitted JAGTAINERS ISO shipping containers that were converted to restrooms. These climate-controlled units featured full flushing toilets, some vacuum-style, hot water hand-washing, and onboard water and waste tanks to accommodate up to 3,000 uses between services.

Result: The hard-sided climate-controlled structures satisfied the mandate. According to a company announcement the transition away from traditional portable toilets and towards hard side climate-controlled solutions was intended to address the effects of heat as well as other environmental factors on job site safety and productivity improving employee wellness and job satisfaction. 800-815-2557; www.jagmobilesolutions.com
