Enviro Waste Oil Recovery
Mahopac, N.Y.
Owner Colin Deems is a stickler for details when he orders a new vacuum truck. And this 2004 Kenworth W900 — loaded up with options and comfort features — is no exception. Deems involved driver Michael Deperna in developing specs for the old-school design Kenworth covered, ironically, in a Mack Green and white color scheme. The rig, built out by Presvac Systems, is powered by a Caterpillar C15 550-hp engine with a 13-speed Eaton-Fuller transmission. The powerplant growls through twin vortex breathers and 6-inch exhaust. The workhorse features a two-compartment 4,200-gallon (1,400 gallons front, 2,800 gallons rear) tank with heated pneumatic valves matched to a 750-cfm Fruitland pump. The exterior is dressed up with special-order old-style Kenworth doors with vent windows, quad air horns, green clearance and neon underbody lights, 24-inch aluminum wheels and chrome accents, including air horns, bumpers and stacks. The cab features full leather plush pillow upholstery, rosewood steering wheel, chrome dash gauges and dual air-ride seats. The truck is used to transfer waste oil, clean catch basins and work on spill recovery projects throughout the New York City area.
