Out of Florida comes a remarkable story that appears to come with a very happy ending. A 90-year-old Cape Coral resident, Ronnie Tribulas, has been paying for sewer service for her house since 1986, but recently found out she is served by a septic system. She only found out now because the septic system failed and sewage backed up into the house.

A story in the News-Press newspaper today shares the elderly woman’s story and includes her heartfelt video thank-you to a local plumbing contractor for offering to cover the cost of her hookup to the Cape Coral sewer system.

A paperwork snafu may be responsible for Tribulas continuing to unknowningly use a septic system while the rest of her neighborhood was hooked up to the sewers some 40 years ago. With limited funds, Tribulas didn’t know where to turn for help connecting to the sewer now. Then Rohaley & Sons Plumbing Contractors stepped in and offered to complete the upgrade for free.

Congratulations to Rohaley & Sons for their care and concern to help in this difficult situation. Your generosity is to be admired, and is a reflection on all of the good people who serve the wastewater industry.
