Trucks + Get AlertsIn the latest of several septic service truck crash photos posted by various media this summer, the Alaska Dispatch put this one up today:
According to Alaska State Troopers, some of the septic truck’s load was dumped on the highway. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt. Officials hadn’t released any other information or the name of the company that owned the truck.
When I see a photo like this, I’m reminded of the precarious nature of the liquid loads septic service drivers transport down the highways every day. You deal with road conditions that change quickly with the weather, heavy and unpredictable traffic and many service deadlines to meet.
Take a moment to review this article I wrote a few years ago on rollover prevention. You can link to a valuable safety training video on the subject of driving with liquid loads, produced by the National Tank Truck Carriers and the American Trucking Association, in cooperation with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Good luck and be safe!
