Transforming Waste to Value with the Clean Earth Process

Problem: Clean Earth Ltd. operates two waste treatment facilities, one in Fredericton and the other in Saint John. With rising disposal costs, these facilities needed to be upgraded to transform waste to value.

Solution: Clean Earth adopted a cutting-edge, technology-driven approach to waste management, ensuring efficiency, environmental responsibility and cost-effectiveness. After screening, septage is stored and processed through Fournier Rotary Presses. The separation takes place in the press with the effluent going into the municipal wastewater system and the solids going into a roll-off container. These solids find a second life as a feedstock for a compost company.

Results: The Clean Earth Process optimizes waste management, ensuring regulatory compliance. The dewatered biosolids contribute to a circular economy, creating a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for waste disposal. Its integration of advanced technology, efficient processing, and sustainable practices serves as a model for modern waste treatment facilities.
