Short Course and Equipment Expo Planned in New England

The New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission will host its sixth Northeast Onsite Wastewater Treatment Short Course and Equipment Exhibition in Groton, Connecticut, April 2-4 at the Mystic Marriott Hotel.

The short course will be a one-stop training and conference event for wastewater operators, onsite wastewater professionals and more. It offers training contact hours for attendees from NEIWPCC states.

The conference, which is held about once every three years, is a forum for sharing information about wastewater issues and projects in the region and features research and case studies from around the nation.

“The conference will feature concurrent sessions on the latest in research, demonstration, policy development and real-world applications of onsite and innovative alternative systems here in New England,” says a Yankee Onsite Wastewater Association spokesperson. “A trade show will also be available to see the latest technologies and tools of the trade. Once again, optional sessions will include national speakers presenting the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association Onsite A to Z course during one of the concurrent tracks, sponsored by YOWA.”

In addition, an optional field trip to learn about various large systems in Connecticut will also be offered to attendees.

Conference attendees include those involved in New England-area wastewater treatment, including state and local governments; private-sector installers, designers and service providers; manufacturers; academics; and watershed organizations.
