Kate Barcom, president and owner of Portable Water Closet in St. Louis, Mo., specializes in boutique wedding packages. “I talk with the bride before the wedding and find out what kind of flowers they have, their color, their signage and make sure the restrooms fit in with the rest of the theme,” says Barcom, who continually looks for ways to put her background in art and interior design to work. 

“If it’s a wedding or event of that nature, I really listen to the bride and groom or whomever is putting on the event and find out what they’re trying to convey and incorporate that into the restrooms,” she says. “I think that’s the biggest thing.”

“I also have exterior sinks, so people can wash their hands without having to wait for a restroom,” she says. “And I’ll do the same thing with those and make sure they look nice with LED candles, flowers and name-brand soap — all the stuff the girls want.”
