Vac-Con Marks 25 Years

Truckbuilder has 6,000 machines in service

For those of you who perform industrial vacuum loading or other tough jobs that require a combination truck, this news comes from fellow COLE Publishing editor Ted Rulseh:

Vac-Con, an industry leader in the building of industrial vacuum and combination sewer cleaning trucks, will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary in business throughout 2011. At its inception in 1986, the company employed five people. Today it is a multi-million-dollar, multi-national business with hundreds of employees, a worldwide network of dealers, and nearly 6,000 machines in service.

The first salesperson and then and now the president, Darrell LeSage drove the first truck and showed the country what Vac-Con had to offer. LeSage believes what has made the company successful is dedication to keeping customers happy—doing whatever it takes to ensure that they have what they want.

“In the beginning, there was no thought of 25 years,” LeSage said. “We thought if we could design a truck and build one or two by the end of 1986, we might survive a year. We have grown as a company 23 out of 25 years, and we have become a solid company with a solid future for all of our employees and their families. I am proud of all the employees over the years who have contributed to that success.”

Vac-Con is planning several events to share the celebration with company stockholders (the employees), the industry, and its home community. Major celebrations are planned for April and October—specific dates to be announced. Visit the company web site at http://www.vac-con.com.
