Wisconsin Website Improves Consumer Education

The revamped Wisconsin Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association website gives better consumer information, promotes annual industry conference.

Wisconsin pumpers have another tool to help educate homeowners about proper septic system care. It’s the new “consumer info’’ page at the revamped website of the Wisconsin Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association, www.wowra.com.

The page dedicated to consumers includes a downloadable booklet called “Facts About Your Septic System,’’ winter tips for septic system, care, information on system repair and replacement grants available from the state and federal governments, and a homeowner’s guide to septic systems from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The website also features a news page, an archive of association newsletters, a membership directory, a page for POWTS evaluators, links to other groups and an events page. The events page includes information on the Jan. 27-29 2011 joint convention of WOWRA and the Wisconsin Liquid Waste Carriers Association in Stevens Point, Wis.

If you belong to an industry association which has an updated website or other news to report, let me know at editor@pumper.com.
