Trucks + Get AlertsOwners Jim Garris and Kenton Brubacher added this 1997 Freightliner FLD 120 chassis formerly used as a roll-off container rig and had Du-Mar Welding fabricate and install a 4,700-gallon waste/300-gallon freshwater steel tank. Vacuum is provided by a Jurop/Chandler LC 580 pump. The truck with 460,000 miles did not require an overhaul of its 425 hp Caterpillar engine that is tied to an eight-speed Fuller transmission. With the tank added, Garris and Brubacher did all other install work, prepped and painted the truck Metallic LeMans blue, and added graphics provided by Signtech Services. The truck features three stainless diamond plate toolboxes, including one on the back running the width of the truck with openings on both sides to carry shovels, tools and a Crust Buster. Other chrome accents include wheels, diamond plate hose trays, fuel tank, horns and dual stacks. The tank has two topside and one 24-inch rear manway, 4-inch inlet and 6-inch dump valve with heated collars, sight glasses and work lights. The truck carries 240 feet of suction hose to reach tanks from the road. An add-on visor was painted to match the cab. Both partners drive the truck used for residential septic service.
