She was no artist, but Marg Gale, of Gale’s Septic in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, picked up a paintbrush one day and started decorating the side of septic tanks parked in her company’s yard. All she wanted to do was draw attention to the septic tanks the company sold, but the effort has grown into a full-fledged hobby for Marg.

You can read a story posted this week about Marg’s painting at the Gander Beacon website:

Marg was an avid photographer before she became a self-taught painter, and she’s now graduated from painting on the side of septic tanks to more traditional canvasses. Her paintings hang throughout her house and she continues to enjoy the relaxing pursuit.

What do you do to get away from the busy routine of servicing septic tanks? Everybody needs a pastime to take their minds off the hectic workday. Let us know about a hobby or a volunteer activity that enriches your life. We’d like to share your stories with Pumper readers in our After Hours feature.
