Septic company chooses to go ‘green’

Problem: A Plus Septic in Texas was looking for a way to reduce printing costs and expedite turnaround time for renewal maintenance contracts. Each month, the company would print 200-300, two-page contracts, fold them into a stamped, double-window envelope and drive to the postal store. The average monthly costs were $350 (printer ink $150, paper $50, envelopes $50, stamps $100).

Solution: The company decided it would go green and use the SAFE Program to email customers with renewal contracts attached as PDF files.

Result: Print and mail costs are reduced by 90 percent. Turnaround for receiving renewal contracts now takes days versus a week or more. The software program also records the date the email was sent to avoid duplication. 800/604-7351; www.thesafeprogram.com
