Classy Truck

This month we feature G & G Septic Service LLC

Rather than replace their favorite pumping rig, father Clem and son Pete Gresczyk of G & G Septic in Grand Marais, Minn., restored this 1996 Peterbilt 357 to its past glory. The truck was originally outfitted with a steel tank and Masport pump by Engle Fabrication, and was featured in the Peterbilt calendar for 1996. The refurbishing project started with a $30,000 overhaul of the Cat 365-hp engine that had logged more than 300,000 miles. Then the Gresczyks returned the truck to Engle Fabrication for an updated paint job, a new 4,000-gallon stainless steel tank, a 100-gallon freshwater stainless steel tank, and a Masport HXL 400 WV pump. The tank has 4-inch valves on both sides and a 4-inch load and dump valve on the back; all the valves are heated. The tank was polished by detailer Nick Woods and lettering was by Bruce Anderson of Anderson Sign & Design. New seats and a GPS were added for comfort and convenience. The owners expect Pete’s sons Greg and Todd, and driver Bruce “Goober’’ Lenord, to enjoy the rig for many years.
