The new FL Series of submersible effluent pumps from Liberty Pumps offer higher head capacity, better motor protection, increased durability and easier installation, says Chuck Schwabe, national sales manager.

The FL100, FL150 and FL200 Series pumps are available in 1, 1-1/2 and 2 hp, respectively, with maximum lift capacity of 135 feet (provided by the 2-hp pump) and maximum flow of 130 gpm (generated by the 1-1/2-hp pump).

“Before this, our pumps provided up to 65 feet of head capacity,” Schwabe says. “But with more and more drainfields now located farther away from the tank to protect nearby water sources, we needed to develop pumps with higher head capacities.”

The powder-coated, hermetically sealed, cast-iron pumps feature a 416-grade stainless steel rotor shaft, as well as unibody casting instead of multiple castings bolted together, with seals in between. This increases durability and reduces the chance of seal failure, Schwabe says.

The pumps can handle 3/4-inch solids and offer dual-sized discharges; they come with a two-inch FNPT threaded discharge and include a 1-1/2-inch, cast-iron FNPT flange for added flexibility. In addition, they feature dual shaft seals to keep water out and lubricating oil in. “This provides better protection for the motor,” Schwabe says.

The pump power cord is 25 feet long and features a quick-disconnect design that makes for easy field replacement. “You can release the power cord from the pump … and replace it without requiring an electrician,” Schwabe explains. “So you can replace a pump without having to work around an electrician’s schedule.”

Single-phase pumps are thermally protected, while three-phase models rely on heat breakers that are sized according to the pump’s horsepower and amperage.

Available in manual and automatic models, the pumps come with a two-year warranty and are designed for residential and commercial use.
