New Toolbox Jetters from Advance Pump & Equipment

JT530 Toolbox Jetter; JT1030 Toolbox Jetter

The new frame-mounted JT530 and JT1030 toolbox jetters from Advance Pump & Equipment Inc. enable septic pumpers to offer customers an additional service, says Wayne Vanden Berg, company president.

“These two jetters are designed to clean smaller lines — such as residential sewer lateral lines and grease trap service lines — that are six inches or less in diameter,” Vanden Berg says. “It’s an easy way for a pumper to add another service and revenue stream, based on an existing piece of equipment (a truck).”

Powered by a 13-1/2 hp, electric-start gasoline engine, the JT530 generates 5 gpm at 3,000 psi. It features 200 feet of 3/8-inch-diameter hose; a flushing nozzle and a wash-down wand with four different quick-connect tips (ranging from 0 to 40 degrees); and a steel reel with chrome guide rollers and electric-powered rewind, which retrieves the hose with the push of a button, Vanden Berg says.

In addition, the JT530’s pressure-controlled throttle system allows the operator to regulate the throttle simply by turning the water on or off.

“The JT530 requires optional frame mounts,” he notes. “But it’s the easiest of the two pumps to install because it runs on homeowner water, so there’s no need for an auxiliary water tank. The JT1030’s mounts are engineered into the unit, and require some help with installation.”

The JT1030 generates 10 gpm at 3,000 psi. It’s equipped with a steel wheel with chrome guide rollers; 200 feet of 1/2-inch-diameter hose; a hose rewind system that runs off compressed air; and the same flushing nozzle and wash-down wand/tips that come with the JT530. But the more powerful, PTO direct-drive pump, which runs off an engine or a hydraulic system, requires at least a 200-gallon water tank to operate.

“A variety of water tank options are available, depending on how much room there is on the truck,” Vanden Berg says. “If you’re buying a new truck, you could bulkhead out the existing tank to create a water tank.”

Both pumps offer a pulsation system that vibrates the hose, allowing it to pass more easily past line joints and offsets. They’re both mounted inside a polished aluminum, weather-tight toolbox. The JT530 toolbox measures 24 by 24 by 48 inches and the JT1030 toolbox measures 28 by 28 by 48 inches. Both toolboxes include a built-in tool rack, located inside one of the unit’s two doors, that holds the wand tips and nozzles, plus two adjustable wrenches.
