Classy Truck of December

T.A. Lauritsen Septic & Drain Inc.

Montevideo, Minn.

Owner T.A. Lauritsen keeps this 2007 Kenworth T-800 rig for himself as he serves residential septic and commercial pumping customers in south central Minnesota. Built by Engle Custom Tank Builders of Sauk Center, Minn., the truck is powered by a 370-hp Cummins engine and a 10-speed Eaton-Fuller transmission that smoothly carry a 3,000-gallon waste, 500-gallon freshwater stainless steel tank. Vacuum is provided by a 1,000-cfm Robuschi 65 air-cooled blower, allowing Lauritsen to take on a greater variety of work. A 6-hp Honda engine powers a 2-inch high-pressure pump for cleaning up with freshwater on septic and commercial jobsites. The truck also has a 55-degree hoist, four 4-inch valves and a 6-inch heated air dump valve with back floodlights. Stainless steel is also used for the primary, upper and lower hose trays and toolboxes. The truck features air ride, power windows, polished aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, engine brake and power seats. The cab is painted white and the graphics by Emery Signs are done in tasteful red and white lettering. Lauritsen has an identical 2003 T-800 in his fleet.
