Ad Sizes and Pre-Press Requirements

Overview

Basic pre-press services to create an ad running in our publications are provided at no extra charge. Pre-press services requiring more than the basic time will be billed on a hourly basis.

Prepared Digital Advertising

Digital files must be built to a specific ad size. High resolution PDF files are preferred over any type of digital file. Be sure to embed all fonts and output at high resolution.

When creating PDFs, do NOT include any bleed marks, registration marks, color bars or page information. Only include crop marks with the offset set at .25".

We also accept the following industry standard software programs:

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5
  • Adobe Illustrator CS5
  • Adobe InDesign CS5
  • QuarkXPress 8

Ads can be sent via FTP to COLE at any time. FTP instructions can be found here.

Mechanical Requirements

Perfect bound, cover is 70 lb. gloss text, body pages are 38 lb. gloss #5.

Bleed Requirements

Full page ads only, no extra charge. Add .25” to all sides beyond trim size of 9 inches wide x 10.875 inches high.
